What Are the Dimensions of a PSA Slab? Complete Size Guide (+ Best Frames)
Learn the exact dimensions of a PSA slab, compare it to other grading holders, and find the best custom frame designed for PSA-graded trading cards.
PSA Slab Dimensions
A standard PSA slab measures approximately 3.35" wide × 5.25" tall × 0.28" thick (85mm × 133mm × 7mm). These dimensions have been consistent across modern PSA cases and cover the vast majority of TCG cards, including Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering.
Why the Exact Size Matters
Every fraction of a millimeter matters when you're designing a frame around a slab. Too tight and the case won't seat cleanly. Too loose and the slab shifts, catches light unevenly, and looks amateurish. A frame designed to PSA's exact tolerances holds the slab like it was molded for it — because it was.
How PSA Compares to CGC and Beckett
PSA: 3.35" × 5.25" × 0.28" — the thinnest.
CGC: ~3.4" × 5.35" × 0.31" — slightly bigger in every dimension.
Beckett (BGS): ~3.5" × 5.4" × 0.4" — noticeably thicker.
A frame built for PSA will not fit BGS. Always check.
Oversized PSA Slabs
Jumbo cards, box toppers, and some promos use PSA's oversized holder, which runs closer to 5" × 7". These need a purpose-built jumbo frame — a standard slab frame won't work.
